8 Flamingo Dr, Halifax

I went there to visit a friend of mine, and now I understand why the rent is so cheap for such a nice area. They could not care less about the building. Its rundown, which is horrible because its in such a nice location... If they cleaned it up and did a little bit of renovating, I'm sure things would be a lot better. It smells horrible in there, they have old and stained carpets throughout the building & bugs in the front entrance. Also, the walls are stained with a red liquid (God knows that that is), the tiles in the elevator are all broken AND they do such a bad job at vacuuming that I found onion peelings, bugs, spider webs and other crap lying around on the floor! AND THIS WAS FROM JUST THE ONE TIME I VISITED!!! They need a new super, because the building repulses me. I'm sure he wont be living there long... Honestly, I even offered him a room- thats how bad this place is. Stay away people! Unless they keep better care of the building, its going to continue to look like a dump.

The price is right, and the location is good, but that's about the only positives about this building. The building is VERY poorly maintained (I never have guests because I would be embarrassed to have anyone walk in--the hallways are filthy, never get vacuumed, never get painted) and the super does a very poor job of screening tenants, assuming he screens them at all. I have lived here for many years, and am finally moving because there is a drug dealer down the hall, there are bed bugs in this building that are not treated properly, and all the neighbours who have come in over the past few years are loud and obnoxious. This used to be a quiet, well kept building full of single professionals and retired people. Those people are the minority, and it's gradually being taken over by welfare bums with no consideration for their neighbours. Stay away unless you want bed bugs and dirtbags living all around you.
