We live at their property on Quinpool and it is infested with bedbugs and they do not care in the slightest. The have allowed them to spread by pulling uncovered items from an apartment full of them out through the hallways and have unresponsive and rude management who does not get back to you about compensation from the hundreds of dollars spent on laundry which you then have to contact their head office to complain and get it. Then they only treat individual apartments when requested instead of the whole building which is needed. This causes the bugs to just move from apartment to apartment leaving each having to get treated again and again. If you want to live with itchy bites, having to dry everything on hot to get rid of the bugs and deal with having to escalate to head office management to have your issues resolved then Killam is definitely the company to live with.

The Quinpool tower is the worst place I have ever lived. There are reoccurring bed bugs that have been in my apartment for at least 5 months and the building will only spray to get rid of them every 2 weeks. During the two weeks after the spray I am not able to sleep in my own bed because I wake up to bugs crawling all over me and an itchy painful rash that lasts for days. Do not live in this bug infested building unless you would like ruined furniture, sleepless nights, and a painful rash.

I've only lived here for less than a year, but I can't wait to get out of here. Don't get me wrong, the rooms are very nice, just small. The problems lie with multiple other issues.

One day, out of nowhere, our heating pipes burst. Our apartment flooded and the floors were ruined. No explanation was given as to why, and nobody gave any indication as to when we would have our floors fixed.

I had a vehicle in the underground garage for a couple months, but the cost of keeping a vehicle there was so expensive that I got rid of it. I had requested to have my name taken off of the sheet for renting a parking spot, and it took them three months to stop charging me for the spot, and that was after multiple reminders that I didn't want to pay for something I didn't have. The only way I could get the people at the office to listen to me was when I stopped paying rent until they agreed to stop charging me.

Very happy to be leaving.

My boyfriend I have have been living in Quinpool Towers (Killiam Properties) since September of 2013. When we moved in, we received an information package that we were expecting to outline the ins and outs of the building. However, it did not tell us much in regards to actually living in the building and was more of an advertisement for Killiam. We were not informed (on paper or otherwise) where the garbage was to be taken, what the mail box number was for our room, where the entrance to the attached Superstore was, or the name or number for the building's manager (or any other resident landlord). This building is smoking friendly (we are not smokers) and we found this to be one of its downfalls. When our room began smelling heavily of the cigarette smoke coming from across the hall, we were informed by a manager that we were just going to have to deal with it because it wasn't illegal. During a severe thunderstorm the windows began leaking uncontrollably. We were forced to stay up the entire night to stop the water from reaching our belongings and furniture. We frantically searched for a way to contact a building manager. When we reached one, she replied (in a very negative way) to our flooding with "Yeah, the windows are old." There is no one available to talk to after about 3 in the afternoon on business days. No one is available (even to phone) on weekends if you have an issue, and maintenance is only available between approximately 8am to 12pm. On the positive list for this building, the rooms are clean and structurally sound. We enjoy our hardwood floors and the attachment to Superstore, Canadian Tire, NSLC and Shoppers Drug Mart. In conclusion, this is physically a very attractive building, but the lack of responsible landlords and terrible communication on the part of the employees causes this building to seriously lack in appeal.
